FLYPAPER TRAPZ
We license structured prevention infrastructure. Organizations receive the legal right to assemble, produce, and distribute approved FLYPAPER TRAPZ chapbooks within defined jurisdictions under a clean, one-time program license.
Scalable. Replicable. Prevention-driven.
The programmatic goal of 1 I OPEN, LLC is to reduce youth involvement in violence, risky peer environments, social-media-driven conflicts, and justice-system contact by equipping families and stakeholders with our proprietary Cautionary Intelligence™ chapbook micro-lessons authored by an experienced Public Safety Reform Fellow who understands the streets, the system, and the space in between. Each guide translates lived experience into disciplined, teachable insight designed to interrupt risk early, strengthen independent judgement, and support lasting behavior change.
What Sets Us Apart
Parents recognize themselves in the pages. Youth see their reality explained without judgement. Practitioners see engagement instead of avoidance. Funders see a missing link between outreach and outcomes. Our specialization is helping youth: 1) Identify high-risk peers and unsafe environments; 2) Reduce impulsive behavior in conflict moments; 3) Adopt safe-movement habits (who, what, when, where, how, and why ); 4) Understand the legal and personal consequences of choices; 5) Build emotional regulation; and 6) Limit harmful social media behaviors, while empowering parents and mentors to: A) Use Cautionary Intelligence™ scripts in real time; B) Improve supervision and intervention skills; C) Strengthen communication with their youth; and D) Increase confidence in knowing how to interpret warning signs.
FLYPAPER TRAPZ Chapbooks and Workbooks are short, 6th grade-readable field guides that are thoroughly researched and assembled to do much more than translate law, psychology, and cautionary street wisdom into actionable insight. They are developed for real-world use by families, mentors, spouses, and community violence intervention partners.

WHO WE ARE

At 1 I OPEN, LLC, our work centers on strengthening community capacity as a trusted public safety resource. We advance Credible Messenger-informed models that reduce preventable harm, interrupt system entry, and support the development of healthier, better-adjusted individuals through structured cautionary education and applied decision frameworks.
We operate at the intersection of lived experience and system design. Too often, frontline realities are disconnected from formal reform efforts, and research-based strategies fail to reach those navigating the highest-risk environments. Our approach bridges that gap -- translating practical insight and behavioral risk patterns into operational tools that communities, courts, and supervision systems can use before crisis escalates.
The result is a form of Cautionary Intelligence: structured, experience-informed guidance that helps individuals and families recognize risk factors early, avoid predictable consequence pathways, and make decisions that alter long-term outcomes well before legal intervention becomes necessary.
Engage With Us
Our purpose is direct and measurable: place clear, actionable risk awareness and decision tools into the hands of those working to keep loved ones, clients, and communities on safer trajectories. Through ecosystem-level collaboration, community supervision reform, and prevention-focused public safety design, we contribute to violence reduction and recidivism mitigation efforts grounded in practical application rather than rhetoric.

Phillip
Phillip, more popularly known as "The Fight DOC," is the Founder & Public Safety Reform Fellow at 1 I OPEN, LLC where he has served as a strategist, educator, mentor, and practitioner with a track record of transforming environments, outcomes, and individual lives across disparate systems.
As both an amateur and professional boxing coach, he honed an early understanding of discipline, motivation, and performance under pressure -- skills later translated into structured coaching and mentorship for men and youth across three generations.
Having served as a Laubach literacy tutor, teaching critical reading and communication skills to learners from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds -- this work deepened his commitment to meeting people where they are and strengthening competence through language and insight.
As a federal pro se trial litigator, Phillip successfully leveraged constitutional expertise to obtain injunctive relief and meaningful improvements in unconstitutional conditions of confinement - demonstrating his ability to combine legal strategy and alternative administrative dispute resolution processes with human-centered outcomes.
While incarcerated, Phillip emerged as an effective leader and social broker, guiding 1993's post-Lucasville riot tensions into constructive transformation for its bystanding overflow population as the elected Chairman of the Inmate Liaison Committee, shifting a volatile prison environment into a space focused on education, programming, and positive activity.
His lived experience, legal acumen, and mentoring practice converged in his work with Eddie Bocanegra, former Senior Advisor for Community Violence Intervention at the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), U.S. Department of Justice -- a national leader in community violence intervention and credible messenger frameworks grounded in lived experience and structured engagement, where Phillip influenced an innovative approach to OJP's Smart Supervision solicitations that was adopted in 2024.
Today, Phillip channels this multidisciplinary expertise into 1 I OPEN, LLC where he and his civilian team deliver original, evidence-informed cautionary guidance through FLYPAPER TRAPZ 4 Tha Streetz™ series. His work bridges street-level insight with intervention design, producing tools that address dynamic risk factors and enhance independent decision-making long before crisis points arise.
In a field where lived experience is often offered as testimony alone, Phillip transforms that experience into structured guidance -- proprietary Cautionary Intelligence™ -- that equips individuals, families, and practitioners to act effectively and earlier, closing the gap between insight and lasting behavior change.
